> Why Do I Need the Chemical Inventory Management Module (CIMM)?
The increase in awareness of the accreditation process for Forensic Laboratories coupled with the growing list of forensic processing techniques available, laboratories are experiencing a tremendous need to track their chemical inventories. JusticeTrax has developed an application to do this, and much more.
> What Makes CIMM So Great?
The Chemical Inventory Management Module (CIMM) provides forensic laboratories with a tool to manage their stocks of raw chemicals and prepared reagents. While CIMM can act as a stand-alone application, it is also tightly integrated with LIMS-plus and provides the ability to pull information directly from your LIMS-plus® database for more automated tracking.
CIMM offers a variety of features designed to make managing your chemical inventory as convenient as possible. Learn more about these exciting new features below:
- Intuitive dashboard: From the moment a user logs in to CIMM, they are instantly presented with information regarding reagents in their inventory. Analysts can view Quality Control Tests that are to be conducted as well as view a list of expired materials and reagents that need to be reordered.
- Inventory Masters: Using the Inventory Masters form users have the ability to create a database of raw materials brought into the laboratory. Analysts have the ability to log basic information as well as special handling and disposal instruction. Along with the specifics of the materials purchased, re-order information can entered into the application to aid the user when inventories are low and need to be replaced.
- Inventory Items: Each time your laboratory receives shipments of raw materials they need to be checked into the CIMM. These individual lots are entered as Inventory Items. Inventory Item specifics can be entered into CIMM. Log the LOT numbers, quantity of reagent, and generate barcodes for each material.
- Using the quantity of reagent, when a current reagent has reached a preset threshold, LIMS-plus® can be configured to alert authorized personnel to its status. Using Crystal Reports®, LIMS administrators can create and customize a Requisition Form 9 for the ordering of the consumable inventory.
- Recipes: CIMM has the ability to create Lab Prepared Materials (Recipes). These are the formulas your laboratory uses for creating reagent mixtures. Using CIMM users can not only name the reagent being prepared and provide a description, but can also enter the instructions for proper mixing of the reagent. Along with the instructions, the user has the ability to create a specific list of ingredients so they will know exactly what they need before they begin preparing the solution.
